Boiler Scrappage Scheme

Gwenda Thomas, AM for the Neath Constituency, today urged pensioners who were considering updating their central heating to contact the Boiler Scrappage Scheme as soon as possible.

‘The fund has been available in Wales since April 6 open to applications from homeowners over the age of 60 who can apply for a £500 voucher towards the cost of replacing a G-rated boiler with an A-rated boiler,’ stated Mrs. Thomas. ‘My staff have been receiving calls daily for the contact information and have received return messages from delighted constituents who have been successful in obtaining the vouchers so please do not hesitate to apply.’

‘Please apply by telephone on 0800 316 2816 or online at www.heeswales.co.uk. If successful, you will be sent a voucher worth £500, which can then be presented to an installer registered with the scheme.’

Notes

If you are not sure if your boiler is G-rated you can check by making a note of the boiler number and contact the Energy Saving Trust on 0800 512 012 who will advise you on this issue or look on the British Gas website which has a search tool to calculate your boiler rating.
